The Minister of Consumer Affairs has announced that a Consumer Law Reform Bill will be introduced to Parliament later this year which is intended to overhaul New Zealand's consumer legislation.

Unfortunately, as the effects of the earthquake began to unveil through various media, so did reports of criminal activity throughout Christchurch. This included “phishing attacks” – the process of attempting to obtain personal information from the unsuspecting public in an electronic communication.
