Jason Rudkin-Binks

Jason Rudkin-Binks has specialised in intellectual property and technology since 1998.  He has considerable experience in all aspects of intellectual property with particular expertise in its development, protection and commercialisation (including via sponsorship and franchise agreements).   In addition, he has broad expertise in many aspects of information technology, including software licensing.

Legal 500 (Asia Pacific, NZ – 2018) has identified Jason as a Leading Individual in New Zealand’s  IP legal industry.

As well as working in private practice, Dr Rudkin-Binks has also worked in-house for GSK and Shell in the United Kingdom and advised in relation to some well-known global household brands.  His unique experience has lead him to adopt a commercial and practical approach to solving intellectual property based issues.

Jason held a number of IP/IT positions in the UK before coming to New Zealand.  In 2005 he left the Commercial and Intellectual Property department of Hammonds in London to join Russell McVeagh in Auckland.  There he worked closely with partners in the IP litigation and corporate advisory groups until leaving in 2007 to join the then-newly founded practice of Hudson Gavin Martin.
