Marketing BD Manager

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a marketing and business development professional to join our team as Marketing and Business Development Manager. This standalone role has the responsibility to deliver marketing activity to bring our brand story to life.  You will help prospective and current clients, the community and other stakeholders to understand who we are, what we stand for and what we offer.

You’ll take care of all things marketing for us. This will include firm and team profile management, digital marketing, website management, social media, and external relations (media, community and other stakeholder engagement). You will be responsible for design and development of collateral, supporting the team with delivering insights and thought leadership, advertising and sponsorship, submissions to legal directories, organising client events, and management of marketing and BD supplier relationships.  It’s a great blend that provides the opportunity to contribute to strategy whilst delivering operationally, with a number of projects on the go at any one time.

On the business development front, you will help us to strengthen our BD efforts through a more systematic approach to the way we manage client relations and our BD cycle.  This will include client identification, analysis of needs, RFP and pitch development, and ongoing client engagement and relationship management. You’ll provide practical guidance and tools and support ongoing capability development for the team.

Across the role, there’s an expectation that you’ll use data and insights from our own activity, and from your understanding of contemporary marketing and business development practices, to inform recommendations and decision making to optimise existing tools and systems we have in place and identify any other tools or systems that might assist our marketing and BD efforts.

About you

You will be a seasoned marketing and/or business development practitioner, with part of your career having been spent in a legal, financial or other professional services business in a similar role. Managing stakeholder relationships is a strength.  That, combined with your technical know-how, delivery focus and curiosity to deeply understand who we are and what we do will be a platform for building credibility and trust with partners, suppliers and the broader team.

You’re able to contribute at a strategic level and execute operationally. You will bring creativity, commercial acumen and pragmatism. You can translate data into actions, drawing on your excellent communication skills, a keen eye for quality and an ability to manage project delivery.
