Mark Heine

Mark Heine rejoined Hudson Gavin Martin's Corporate practice as Special Counsel in May 2026, bringing a rare combination: the legal rigour of a trained litigator, and the commercial perspective of a CEO who has led a dual listed NZX/ASX technology company.

Mark began his career as a litigator before spending a number of years in senior corporate roles, most recently as CEO of EROAD – a dual listed NZX/ASX technology and fleet services business operating across New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

He returned to legal practice because he believes the most valuable legal advice comes from someone who is not just a legal expert, but someone who understands the reality of the issues being grappled with. Mark is excited to be back providing legal advice and supporting outstanding New Zealand businesses as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of an evolving commercial landscape.
