Bio
Oscar believes that law is a transformational force. Advocating for clients ranging anywhere from start-ups to New Zealand’s household brands, Oscar’s style recognises the reality that clients are people first, and aims to imbue his work with a human touch.
Oscar has a particular interest in the intricacies of copyright law, and has published articles in The Spinoff, Newsroom and the New Zealand Law Students’ Journal. Oscar received the NZLA Prize for Legal Writing in 2024 for his article on the interplay between moral rights and parody.
While intrigued by the academic side of the law, Oscar’s professional work prioritises pragmatic, digestible advice, with commercial reality at its heart.
